The Golden Globes kick off the awards season and even thought most times, we find that formal gowns are often just plain silly- these actresses stepped it up, made a statement, and caught our attention.

Kristen Wiig: a great color, epic jewelry, glam boho.

Emma Stone: purple and fuschia with an eagle belt?! Duh, yes.

WINNER: ROONEY MARA!  Simple, black, plunging neckline and back, banded waist and minimal jewelry- this look is confidence meets sexy meets kicking your ass.

Elizabeth Olsen is the one to watch.

You may have recently seen her in Nylon magazine, but in my opinion, it’s a necessity to stop and look at this girl!  Recently in Martha Marcy May Marlene, Elizabeth Olsen commanded attention and the spotlight and countless nominations and recognition for her captivating performance as a girl adjusting to her “normal” life after escaping the grasp of a cult.

And last night at the Critic’s Choice Movie Awards, in her yellow sequined dress, I hope others felt the same way as I did, “Mary Kate and Ashley..who?”

What happens when your favorite fashion boutique’s favorite fashion boutique, your favorite record store’s favorite record store, and your favorite freaks favorite Freaks get together?  Super-duper, ecstatic, fantastic love happens!  ( I mean, c’mon- “A Whole Lotta Love” and Led Zeppelin II were released in 1969.  Need I say more?)  And so does WILMATIC 2!

What’s the “big reveal,” right?  If you’re not already hip, our local homies at Freaker were approached by none other than Wilco to create their own freaker!  So guess what you do when a band like Wilco has a new album coming out; some of your friends are connected with said band and their new album; and some of your other friends run the best record store around?  You throw a party and celebrate!

So make sure to stop by, hang out, have some cold beverages to wash down your treats, and hear some new tunes with your friends!  Not only will we be listening to the new Wilco in-full, but we’ll also be spinning jawns from the other new records!

Now, leading up to the listening party we have a couple ways for you to get your hands on some of those nifty Wilco freakers:

1) Easy-peasy- stop by Gravity Records and pre-order/purchase the new Wilco album.  Then, swing by EoU on Saturday for the listening party to get your Freak on (your cold beverage, of course)!  I cannot recommend this option more to make sure you get your hands on this rarity!

2) Not quite as easy-peasy- stop by EoU and purchase a Freaker (or multiple Freakers!) to get entered into the drawing for Wilco Freakers!  Purchases must be made by Friday September 30th; winners announced at the listening party!

We’re gonna rock this shit and we want ya’ll to rock it with us!
