New York City.  Rock and Roll.  Yeah Yeah Yeahs.  For my next vacation, I want to hang out in Karen O’s closet.

The American singer/songwriter, movie star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy winning band, Debbie Harry’s career reads like a dream come true!  And I want to roll around in her wardrobe.

Leading the band, Blondie, the classic rock anthems and iconic Marilyn Monroe meets Rock and Roll blonde locks, they conquered the music industry.  Debbie did it- before I was even born.

She’s Rock meets Pretty.  She’s a perfect mix of manicured and unkempt.

Maybe the most intriguing aspect of Debbie Harry is that her style has transformed through the years, both with them, and slightly ahead of her time.  Unlike Madonna who seemed rebirthed with each new look, Debbie Harry seemed to evolve.  Her style is cutting-edge but still timeless.  She’s a rock goddess who knew,  and still knows great great fashion.

Even today, her beauty and exuded power leave the world breathless and intrigued.  She’s a force to be reckoned with, and we are here if she needs backup.  (Preferrably, backup in the form of singers or dancers- but we can also throw a good punch!)

Recently, we met Sam Kramer- designer and purveryor of awesomeness at Near Modern Disaster, quite possibly the best card/stationary/print/calendar company we’ve ever obsessed over.

Eat Your Teeth - Hang In There - Stop Trying - Stupid Face - Perpetual Calendar

The self proclaimed “gangster Nancy Sintra”.  Songs about blue jeans, diet mountain dew, born to die, video games.  Heart shaped sunglasses, cigarettes, flower crowns and high-waisted denim.

We are a closet case for Lana Del Rey.  From her haunting beats, breathtaking imagery, impeccable style and words so powerful you just might realize how weak you could be.  But weak, she is not.

Her style is vintage glam.  Flirty styles paired with glaring, blank stares.  Pairing hyper-feminine clothes with commanding posture.  From cut off jeans to crop tops and sweet heart shaped accessories, Lana presents a girly package while letting you know that she’s not your lady, rather a woman all her own.

How great it would be to go through her closet?  Crop tops, vintage tees, knit sweaters with hearts and shapes sewn into them, blue jean cut offs, high waisted everything(!!!), vintage glam meets pin-up girl.

Lana Del Rey exudes such power in her words.  Her brutal honesty paired with an unapologetic presence ignites pride, courage and wisdom, and we can no longer just obsess about her amazing taste.

Trust us, buy her albums, read her lyrics, drool over her images, and you, too, will be captured by this great American singer and style icon!

A conservative black shirt dress that buttons all the way up.  The buttons give you options.  However, turn around, and they’ll get the picture.  You are confident, you are brave, and you could probably most likely- especially styled with minimal jewelry and boots, whip them into shape.

Rooney Mara brings to life Lisbeth Salander in “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”.  The story is gripping, the clothes are impeccable, and the transformation of actress into character is dedication at its best.  As a huge fan of the books and having already seen the Swedish version of the Millenium Trilogy, I was visually compelled and fascinated by the newest American version.

Don’t lose your personality in your wardrobe, just make sure you are finding the right pieces.
