Do you play video games such as Karaoke Revolution, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, FreQuency, Amplitude, or Downhill Domination?  If so, you’ve probably heard Freezepop, the synth pop band from Boston.

Luckily for us, Freezepop will be playing at the New Deal Fashion Show! With catchy electronic melodies similar to Le Tigre and Kraftwerk, they are full of energy and know how to get a party started. According to their own bio,

“Freezepop has always been something of an oxymoron: embraced by both hipsters and nerds; serious about irony; and retro-futuristic. A synth band in a guitar videogame, singing pop songs about rock. And it all somehow makes sense when you listen to the music.”

We agree, the music does make sense, and that is why we are super-excited to have them play for us! Don’t forget that all of the festivities will be May 9th. At 1pm the hand made market will start, followed by the fashion show at 7pm, and after that Freezepop will take the stage. “Fringe has firmly returned. Now’s the time to decide on flapper fringe or prairie princess.

To work this look into your spring wardrobe, try:

1. Remembering a little goes a long way. If you’re wearing a fringed top or dress, stick with clean lines and simplistic accessories.

2. Adding a touch of fringe with a pair of fringed gladiators or a fringe-trimmed handbag.

3. When wearing suede fringe, add at least one other natural element or texture, such as feather earrings, to add some boho cred.

OlsenHaus shoes, the vegan shoe line from eco-friendly designer Elizabeth Olsen, are not what you think of when you imagine vegan shoes. Say goodbye to boring brown sandals most hippies have in mind and say hello to splashes of paint, bright neon colors, and rock-star platform shoes. Now there’s absolutely no reason for your shoes to be ugly because you’re ethically hip. Oh, and we should mention that each paint splatter and pattern is unique and hand-made by Elizabeth Olsen in her studio.

OlenHaus was recently in both Daily Candy and Nylon (along with plenty of other magazines), and celebrities like Maggie Gyllenhaal and (our favorite) Amy Sedaris are also sporting OlsenHaus shoes. These are really hot now, so come get a pair from Edge of Urge while you still can!
