We know how to have fun here at EOU and this past Thursday we threw down. EOU hosted a wine tasting/art opening/concert extravaganza for our lovely customers. Wilmington Wine Shoppe provided us with the wine, Benjamin Simon Belmont showed his art, and live music was supplied by the J Miners.

We had a great time and we hope everyone that came out did, too! Be on the lookout for our next partay cause it’ll be coming up soon…pinky promise.

Benjamin’s artwork will be on sale at the store until the end of July. Below are a few images of his work.

If you are a local artist, musician, juggler, flame thrower, or contortionist that wishes to perform at the next festivity, send an email to dustin@edgeofurge.com and we’ll see about hooking you up with a gig at the party.

Makeover Lotto: Christopher

Edge of Urge recently held it’s 3rd Makeover Lotto and the lucky winner that received a day full of love and attention wasssssss Christopher! He is a makeup artist based out of Southport, NC. The first guy to win the makeover lotto was pampered with a new haircut/color and a head to toe brand spankin’ new outfit from Edge of Urge.

Before:

Courtney from Fluid salon was gracious enough to lend her expertise and gave Christopher a new do.

Courtney working her magic:

After he hit the salon he stopped into EOU to try on some new clothes. After short deliberation he chose the cool ensemble you see below. A plaid Original Penguin short sleeve button down, a pair of Verses jeans, and an awesome pair of olive colored organic cotton Camper shoes. Mighty spiffy if we do say so ourselves!

After:

Kate and the boys (minus Jon) plus Edge of Urge

So while Kate and the boys were vacationing at Bald Head Island, NC earlier this month, they made a trip over to our neck of the woods in Wilmington. While they were here they treated themselves to a few of our favorite downtown locales. The boys went over to John Robert’s Hair Design for haircuts, the girls made jewelry at Caravan Beads, and afterwards they all stopped by our favorite ice cream place, Kilwin’s. Not only was it cool to have Kate and the boys here, but we are even more happy that now she owns one of Jessie’s handmade swimsuits! We hope she loves it. (LOOK…one of the 8 is swinging an EOU bag!!)

Check out the swimsuit she has here!

You better WORK!

One of the fiercest broads in the world graced Wilmington with her presence on June 13th for Wilmington’s pride weekend.  RUPAUL!!! Supermodel of the world and host of the LOGO channel’s RuPaul’s Drag Race performed at the Hilton Riverside on June 13.  She put on a great performance and she looked smokin’!

Seeing as how Jessie is a huge fan of RuPaul and drag queens in general, (I think it’s all the glitter), she volunteered to help out with the show and support it any way she could.  The EOU crew was responsible for getting her green room together and having 4 models walk around in Jessie Williams originals to sell raffle tickets during the event.  The models’ hair was done by Steven Ward and makeup was done by MAC. The hair and makeup looked AMAZING!! Jessie also made Ru 3 custom made outfits and a special pair of feather earrings that she even named after RuPaul herself. Jessie, never one to skip over details, ordered Ru some delicious key lime cupcakes (her favorite) from Coastal Cupcakes and flowers from Moxie Floral Design Studio for her green room.

During the chaos of getting everything ready for Ru, she walked in!  As nice as could be, she thanked us for all of our hard work and especially for the cupcakes that she soon ran off with to her hotel room. She even made a comment saying she would be fine in her green room as long as she got to wear the beautiful outfits Jessie had made. We all had a blast that night and had a few cocktails in honor of Ru. And by few I mean many.

Boom kit kit kat kat owwwww!  Ru we love you!

All of the above and below pictures feature pieces handmade by Jessie Williams.
