Known for bringing luck or taking it away, what do you will of this magic herb? ✨
The name "Bryony" comes from the Greek word for "spring forth." According to folklore, Bryony was believed to want to escape from the earth and roam freely. It was thought to require great care to keep it contained and prevent it from causing mischief. Also known as English Mandrake, Bryony was said to "cry" when plucked and its roots were thought to resemble a small child. It was also used in witches' brews when the much more expensive Mandragora was difficult to obtain.
