Polymer clay handmade statement earrings. The earring post and clutch back are 18k gold plated and nickel/lead free. Jump rings are 18k gold plated. 

These earrings are individually handmade with polymer clay and baked in the oven. Each piece is hand mixed, shaped, sanded, drilled, and assembled!

Those mustard colored glove boots and the dress like the sky, gathered yards of pale blue fabric and embroidered clouds, favorite green velvet coat, favorite green Ruby Assata bag and you’re off—there’s the Lavender House for a to-go tea, a cat show at the convention center and then maybe dinner; all friends meet up at the Satellite bar, sitting outside in the ferns, watching dogs party in the courtyard, the slow fade in the sun, drinking from little etched glasses and laughing, hands on arms and elbows, whispers in ears.

Stacks of gold records on the shaggy gold carpet, grapefruit trees with hummingbirds buzzing their branches line the glass doors, and down the long path of smooth flagstones leading to the pool. an oasis in the backyard, jungle green and sweet heavy summer air. Leave the doors open and the birds dart in and out, their music and ours harmonizing, echoing on the winds in the canyon. We’ll drive in the hills at sunset, glimpses of the ocean and the mountains in our eyes like snapping through a viewfinder, the perfect vacation, the corner of the pier, the swings, a fat sea lion on the rocks and the great blur beyond.

Our favorite backyard, the one beyond the deck we built, the shaggy carpet of grass and thick blanket of flowers between the kitchen window and the work shop, surfboards in soft colors lining the walls, the sand and stone and the outdoor shower lined with ferns and eucalyptus. Golden gazing balls shine in the green, lighting the fur of the cat as she sleeps in a house made of daffodils. James Brown on the record player behind the glass doors, where your own sleep calls, just a little nap after a morning surf, then tea and class, and home again.

We had a Moosewood cookbook dinner party, root vegetable pot pie in puff pastry, cous cous with roasted red peppers and and golden sultanas, mint tea spiked with vodka. Heaps of dill and parsley on the tables, bread and good butter, farmer’s cheese. We played dominos and pictionary, your great swooping lines, ecstatic squiggles to prove a point. No one guessed the answer but we saved the sheet of newsprint and framed it, the memory of that night, the green in the window and the golden light, the sound of the spring peepers, Paul Simon on the record player.

We went to the psychic by accident; we were trying to find the new pierogi place, hungry and excited and thirsty for dark Polish beers. She watered the plants on her stoop and waved to us, pointed at the neon eye in the window. It was bright in there, every surface shining with the light reflecting off her crystals, her kitten snoozing on the record player. She played the BeeGees and turned over cards, clapping her hands, happy. She sent us on our way with good fortunes, and
pointed us towards the restaurant as we left.

We stopped on our way to go camping on Antelope Island, the Great Salt Lake coast rocky and cool. The earth and smooth stones were visible through the shallow red water. We followed the spiral around to the center in silence, listening to the wind and the water, thinking about time. We went to the bird sanctuary too that day, meeting cranes and swans, finches and kookaburra, the whole place a prism of feather and color, part of the story too, the painted birds yet another
earth marvel, another temporary work of art.
