The Terry Romper is a fresh retro piece to add to your summer (and work-from-home) wardrobe. It combines elements from a couple of our favorite vintage finds from the 1950s and 60s. Most importantly, it's made of 100% terry cloth fabric so it will breathe (unlike that sweaty vintage polyester terry cloth) and dry you off after a spontaneous dip. The bottoms fit like the Hammies shorts that you know and love and even have elastic in the waist to accommodate buns of all sizes. The white contrasting trim and button-down front matches the details of the mens Cabana Sets and demands respect in a way that only 50s swim style can.

The Terry Romper is our first of many pieces to come that celebrate the exuberant and under-appreciated style from 1950s and 60s swim style. This is your grandmas romper!

The Cabana Set is a style made popular in the 1950s and 60s that has been largely forgotten…until now! The trunk design is very true to its origins and borrows some good ideas from the last 60 years. Like the originals, the trunk is made of mostly cotton but is also blended with some nylon and elastic to make for quicker drying and better stretch. The double-button closure, front key pocket, and white contrast trim are iconic details of the 50s and 60s trunks. We took the liberty of making the key pocket big enough to fit a phone and replacing the zipper fly with velcro.

The Cabana Trunk is a homage to a time when trunks were shorter, classier, and so much more groovy. These are your grandpa's trunks!

The Cabana Set is a style made popular in the 1950s and 60s that has been largely forgotten…until now!

The shirt design is 100% true to its origins. The most iconic feature of the cabana shirt is the two cabana pockets on the front with white terry cloth contrasting trim and the shirt's white terry cloth liner. Like the original, it has a wide and short fit and oversized collar. It comes in three colors (Navy, Rust, and Gold), each with its own print. It's made with 100% cotton shell and terry cloth liner. This is a heavier-weight cabana shirt intended for Spring and Fall seasons. We will be introducing a lighter-weight version without the terry cloth liner this Summer.

The Cabana Shirt is a homage to a time when men's swimwear included pieces that were part-Hawaiian shirt, part-pajama top, and part-robe. This is your grandpa's shirt.

The Hammies short is an old short for a new generation. This short style was popularized in the 1960s in Southern California and for 3 decades it was the staple of skateboarders, surfers, rollerskaters, camp counselors, Tom Selleck, and many more. In the mid-1980s, shorts got longer and pants got baggier and for the proceeding 3 decades, the shorts were forgotten (a period also known as The Shorts Dark Ages). Fast-forward to 2017: Hammies has revived the once forgotten shorts in all of their primary-colored and wide-waled corduroy glory and once again, all was right with the world. In short, the Hammies short is a homage to a time when shorts were shorter, fuzzier, and more colorful. These are your mom's shorts! 🌱 Stretch corduroy (98% cotton, 2% elastic). 📏 2" inseam. 🤸‍♂️ Elastic waist. 💎 Copper snap.

Hammies sizing is based on US pants sizing (size 28 means 28 inch waist). If you don't know your waist size, measure around your waist at your belly button. If you're in between sizes, size up for a more relaxed fit and size down for a slimmer fit. Hammies fit true-to-size 👍

The Kasi bucket hat will add a dash of color & happiness to any fit. All prints and artwork are made in house by our designer in New York, colorways are super unique and playful. Adjustable size with tie inside.

About the Artist
Third Drawer Down Studio first collaborated with British artist David Shrigley in 2007. Shrigley came into prominence through his drawings, publications, and sculptural works. His drawings have a kind of throwaway beauty featuring monster children, idiots, aliens and bad parents. Full of twisted lists and exchanges, Shrigley is a Third Drawer Down favourite both for his angst about modern living, his everyday disappointments, and his endless cynicism.
