The inspiration: "Stacks of gold records on the shaggy gold carpet, grapefruit trees with hummingbirds buzzing their branches line the glass doors, and down the long path of smooth flagstones leading to the pool. an oasis in the backyard, jungle green and sweet heavy summer air. Leave the doors open and the birds dart in and out, their music and ours harmonizing, echoing on the winds in the canyon. We’ll drive in the hills at sunset, glimpses of the ocean and the mountains in our eyes like snapping through a viewfinder, the perfect vacation, the corner of the pier, the swings, a fat sea lion on the rocks and the great blur beyond."
