Our slim suits glitter in the dark wings offstage, brocade and jacquard, crushed coral velvet like the sun just dipping below the horizon, our feet in narrow boots, tapping out notes, keeping in time with each other. We’re glowing in lights, wind rushing in our ears, crowd roaring in our ears, we’re simply irresistible when the good times roll. Later, in a dark bar, sprawled in a big circle booth, we drink drinks with little paper umbrellas and fruit skewered on candy colored swords, giggling, breathless, giddy, on the precipice of a movement, a new sound in the world.
